I just call it cam timing but yeah. It's well worth doing.

I checked mine and it's slightly advanced which moves the power slightly up in the rpm range....the opposite of what I wanted if anything really. A vernier would have been a good idea to get it right but to be honest, it's still fairly tame considering the cam specs.

Never done it before, followed instructions from book and in the straight up position it was just over 3 degrees advanced, as I am running an auto on the street I used the other keyway on the sprocket to retard it 4 degrees. I could have got offset bushes to get it spot on but they say retarding cam brings the power band down the rpm scale a little and helps low end torque. Hope I done the right thing

Yeah thats spot on mate. I would have been happy with 1 degree of retard. It would have made my car less of a.....retard.
